On 20th November 2016 peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice and surrounded by her loving family, Jean aged 74 years of Great Harwood, formerly of Accrington.  The devoted and much loved wife of Peter, loving mum of Glen and Sue, dear mother-in-law of Chris and much loved step-mother of Mark and Ian, cherished gran of Gabby, Oliver, Tom, Ben, Isla, Nieve, and dear friend to Bernice and Dorothy.

Jean was an avid reader of biographies and a skilled IT user.  She would often spend time on her iPad hunting for her next bargain or searching for a new place to explore for her next adventure, be it a leisure holiday or an active holiday.  She loved gardens, sewing and shopping trips.  Jean worked as a civil servant for the Job Centre all her life up until retiring and became a well known face in Accrington as a result of her work.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid traveller, extensively visiting Europe and the U.S.A.
