Jean Bindoff
On 3rd October, 2022 peacefully at her daughter’s home, Jean, aged 95 years of Read. The dearly loved wife of the late Ray, much loved and loving mum of Tracey and Yvette, loving mother in law of Symon, loving grandma of Johnathan and Finley, beloved twin of the late Joan and loving sister of the late Jack, Olly, Rob, Irene, Geoff and Iris.
Just after the war, Jean served in the land army. She then moved to Canada for 6 years where she worked in insurance. Returning home, Jean met Ray and it was love at first sight for them both. They married and moved to Padiham and set up a greetings card company together. They worked together and travelled the world together, both sharing a passion for travel, they visited the four corners of the world and enjoyed the wonderful experience of sailing to New York on the QE2 and flying back on Concorde, then later flying to New York on Concorde and returning on the QE2. Even though she loved to travel, Jean was also a homebird and loved entertaining – she was the best cook. She adored cats, dogs and reading and was blessed with a warm and loving nature, always believing that there was light at the end of every tunnel. First and foremost, Jean was a devoted and fabulous family lady – always there, never judgemental, ever loving.

Jean was the loveliest, kindest lady with a great sense of humour she will be enjoying a drink with her sister Joan. Thinking of you both.
