Jay Lynchehaun

On 7th March 2022, peacefully in East Lancashire Hospice with his loving wife and family by his side, Jay, aged 35 years of Clitheroe. The devoted and cherished husband of Becky, amazing Daddy of Teddy and Orla, much loved son of Sharon and Kevin, dear stepson of John, dearly loved brother of Jo, dear brother in law of Danny and Scott, much loved son in law of Julie, loving uncle of Ella, Amelia, Jacob and Raife and much loved grandson of Granny Lynchehaun.

Jay began his working life as a mechanic with Citroen, working his way up to becoming a top technician. Following his diagnosis, Jay took a change of career and became a Graphic Designer with Latitude Studios and here, he really found his niche. Passionate and dynamic, Jay was talented and artistic with an eagle eye for detail and precision. Meeting Becky was Cupid at his best and Jay and Becky adored their life together – meals out, holidays and simply ordinary days spent with each other or with friends. Jay paused at least once a day to give thanks for all he had and there was always laughter. Jay was quite simply THE BEST DADDY IN THE WORLD and loved his family with all his heart. If family were number 1, then Ferrari was definitely his number 2 – ‘Essere Ferrari’.  Jay had courage, strength and tenacity in dealing with his illness and was an inspiration to all. He never complained and his strength of heart and spirit saw him continue to live each day for the day and never waste a moment. His life is a lesson to us all – love one another and love with all your heart.

I remember the day i met Jay like it was yesterday. I served him a pint in the wilpshire Hotel and he was so friendly and warming, he just seemed like a real gentleman. Sadly within a few days of meeting Jay he feel ill and my heart felt such sadness for this lovley man who was so full of life. Every time i bumped into Jay he was as happy and lovely as that first time i met him, despite all that he was going through. He was clearly so in love with Becky and his babies and it was so lovely to see. Sending all Jay’s family love and strength x Jay you will be so badly missed x

Jay I watched often from my window inspired by your bravery and courage as you fought as hard as you could. A true inspiration I was so impressed how you lived life to the very full and made the most of every occasion. That giant spider on the side of your house at Halloween made me both laugh and shudder but showed how much of a big kid you were. We will do our best to look after Teddy Orla and of course Becky. Rest in peace.

Philippa Ponsonby

Goodnight God Bless x Philippa & Freddie xxxx

What an honour to meet such a nice and amazing man. Unfortunately, I only had a few months helping him and supporting him and his wonderful family. I could see and feel the love he had for the amazing Becky and his beautiful children. He was a great guy and will be sadly missed. God bless you and keep looking down from above watching your family.
