FUNERAL NOTICE
Janet Turner (nee Smith) – 26/07/1942
Passed away suddenly on Monday 17th November at Blackburn Royal Hospital surrounded by her loving son Mark his partner Joyce and medical staff.
Janet, aged 83 of Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington, was a devoted and loved wife of the late Tony and loved mum to the late Gill, grandma to Josh & Matt and mother-in-law to Glenda.
Her life was given in serving her family and friends through Girls Brigade, schools and churches.
A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity Community Church, Accrington (Christ Church) BB5 2NA at 2-30pm on Friday 12th of December 2025,
Janet has requested for everyone to wear bright and colourful clothing.
Family flowers only please. Donations are being gratefully received in Janet’s memory on behalf of TWAM (Tools with a Mission) a donation Box will also be provided in church.

Wonderful friend always stopped for a chat .We go back along way Andrews Shop. Girl Brigade and a customer of ours when we had Wharg Garage in Clayton.

I have fond memories of Janet from girls bridge as a youngster, and would frequently see her out and about on the go on her travels. She also supported my mum at girls brigade, so it’s clear Janet left a true legacy spanning decades. A deeply sad loss for her family and friends, and the whole girls brigade and wider community. May she rest in peace. Xx
Very saddened to read about Janet she said her mother were the nicest people you could meet. The Girls Brigade sessions at Atlas Street rooms were great times. We were a bit naughty at times but they never gave up on us. Sincere condolences to her family
