James Frankland “Jim”

Avid supporter of AFC Darwen

Suddenly on 2nd May 2018, Jim aged 65 years of Rishton and formerly of Gt Harwood. The devoted and much loved husband of Anne, loving dad of Joanne and James, dear father-in-law of Jade and Adam, dear brother of Joan and brother-in-law of Ian and also a dear relative and friend to many. Jim also leaves his beloved companion dog Toby.

Jim worked at Waddingtons in Chatburn and then at Matthew Brown’s in Blackburn as a joiner. He then went on to be a building manager before retiring at the age of 55. Jim was an avid supporter of AFC Darwen and travelled everywhere to watch them play. He also gave lots of his time to Rishton United who he used to manage and to the scouts as he was formerly a scout leader. In his younger years he enjoyed camping holidays and his recent holidays were spent travelling around Europe taking in the sights and enjoying the new culture and meeting many new people along the way. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking with Toby his dog. Jim was a family orientated man who always looked after his family and made sure they were provided for.

Family flowers only please and donations in memory of Jim to the British Heart Foundation.
