Eddie's funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium.
James Edwin Slater (Eddie)
On the 4th August 2021 suddenly at Swansea Terrace Nursing Home, Eddie aged 71 years of Preston.
Eddie was much loved cousin and friend to many.
Eddie was born and raised in Preston. Upon finishing school at the age of 15 Eddie worked in a garage as a mechanic before moving onto to work for Preston Council.
It was then in his 30’s that Eddie decided to further his education and train to become a barrister at Nottingham University he loved all aspects of the law and learning about all areas, Eddie then went on to qualify as a solicitor. Eddie did voluntary work for the Lancashire Police where he would help out with his wealth of knowledge.
Eddie was a supporter of Blackburn Rovers, he was a private man and very independent, he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

My sincere condolences to all of Eddie’s remaining family. Happy and fond memories of a friend from many years ago back in the 60’s. Remembering the times with you, Paul and the rest of the lads. The card games on a Saturday night, snooker at the ‘Albert’, football on the beach at St. Anne’s on a Sunday and finally that hilarious holiday on the Norfolk Broad’s. R.I.P. dear friend.
