Memorial Book
Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of James, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on 29th December 2025, fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church. The devoted husband of the late Sheila, loving dad of Bernadette and Mark, dear father-in-law of Scott, cherished grandad of Matthew, and a much-loved relative and friend to many.
Jim spent his working life in engineering, dedicating many years to British Northrop Loom in Blackburn before moving to British Aerospace, where he worked as an inspector. He was an avid Blackburn Rovers supporter and former season ticket holder, and loved nothing more than attending matches both home and away, making many wonderful friends along the way.
A staunch Roman Catholic, James was an active member of St Charles RC Church, Rishton, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Holy Communion to the sick and housebound of the parish. He greatly enjoyed holidays, from trips to the south coast in his younger years to many memorable coach holidays throughout the UK and Europe in later life.
Jim was a devoted and proud family man who always treasured time spent with those he loved and cherished.
Family flowers only, please.
Donations, if desired, are being gratefully received in James’ memory on behalf of Cancer Research UK.
