Irene Westwell

Irene passed away peacefully on the 19th September 2021 at Royal Blackburn Hospital with family by her side aged 78 years.

Dearly loved wife to Ian, devoted mum to Simon and Alex, cherished nana to William, Nathan, Charles and Rachael, a dear sister to Harry, Glenys, Robert, Sheila, Steven and the late Kenneth and a much loved auntie and friend to many.

Irene was a well known face in the Accrington area. She started her working life at Mullards before moving onto work for Woolworths, Dewhurst butchers and then finally, for Oddies bakery, from where she retired.

Irene loved to tend to her garden and enjoyed the outdoors taking in all that nature had to offer. Family holidays to Bridlington and Llandudno were always looked forward to. Irene was very much a family lady who devoted and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren. They were the apple of her eye and she would do anything for them.

Irene was a loving, loyal family lady who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
