Irene Rhodes

Suddenly in hospital on 2nd November 2023 Irene aged 74 years of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Stanhill Oswaldtwistle. The devoted wife of the late Frederick, loving daughter of the late Joyce and Clifford Swan, adored mum of Sally and David, loved mother-in-law of Nicola and a cherished nan to Lucy, Faye, Katie, Freddie and Bobby.

Born in Wallsend, Newcastle, Irene made the move to Lancashire settling in Bury and then Preston. It was whilst living in Preston that she met the love of her life Frederick who she went on to marry and share a wonderful and happy life with. The couple lived in Hoghton before making the move to Stanhill, Oswaldtwistle in 1978 where they became well known in the local community. Together they set up the family firm F. Rhodes and Sons which was a well known local building company. Irene was the most doting family lady who always looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren who she always spoiled with love and kindness.
