Irene Hanson née Pilkington

On 17th June 2019, Irene aged 85 years old of Accrington passed away.  Devoted and much loved wife of the late Tom, dearly loved mum of Debbie and the late Kim and mother-in-law to Warren.

Irene started her working life as a lab technician at Broad Oak, which is where she met her husband Tom. She later worked for many years as a supervisor at M&S and as a supply teacher in the Accrington area.

A true sun worshipper, Irene loved her holidays with Tom and Barbados was a particular favourite of theirs.  Together they also enjoyed days out cruising around the countryside in their convertible and bird watching at Martin Mere.

Family flowers only and donations may be made in memory of Irene to Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK and Moorfields Eye Charity.
