Peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family on 6th May following a short illness, Hilda aged 93 years of Barrow. The devoted wife of the late Tom and a much loved and adored mum, gran and great-gran.

Young at heart, Hilda loved life and had a wonderful sense of adventure, she was a well know and loved face in Barrow where she had lived since 1965. Always on the go, Hilda loved to be out and about and could spend hours happily tending to her garden which bloomed beautifully throughout the seasons. She was the most doting mum, gran and great-gran and always looked forward to catching up with all the family. The grandchildren in younger years always looked forward to visits to gran’s especially to be treated to some of her baked treats and her Victoria sponge held legendary status within the family. Hilda loved birds and there was always a plentiful supply of well stocked feeders dotted around her garden. Hilda will be sadly missed but remembered fondly by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
