Graham Jameson Rothwell

Peacefully at his home on 15th October 2024, Graham aged 88 years of Padiham. The devoted husband of Dorothy, loving dad of Steven and Linda and a cherished grandad of Alana and Tom and dear brother-in-law of Lesley

Graham dedicated his working life to Mullard’s in Simonstone, where he served as an engineer and draftsman. He took immense pride in his craft, approaching every task with meticulous attention to detail. Whether at work or at home, Graham’s perfectionism shone through in everything he did.  Known for being a bit of a hoarder, he rarely threw anything away, convinced that each item might prove useful one day. A passionate dancer, Graham and his beloved wife Dorothy organised many wonderful dance events together. After retiring, travel became one of Graham’s favourite pastimes. He enjoyed remarkable trips around the world, including flying on the Concorde to New York and riding the iconic Orient Express. Each February, he treated the entire family to a cherished holiday in the Canary Islands. At home, Graham could often be found tinkering away in his garage, where he stored everything with such care that if you ever needed something, he could always put his hand on it.

Worked with Grahame at Mullards and he carried on regular visits at my works assisting with his knowledge in developements. Always had us laughing with his quirky gadgets and parking his old bicycle outside. Will be sadly missed.

So sorry to hear this news, I worked with Graham for a lot of years in the drawing office, he was a great bloke and an excellent designer engineer. I am sorry I could not be there today  but I am in hospital and cannot make it. Best wishes to you all at this sad time x

I had the pleasure of working along side Graham in the 1970’s. He was a talented, resourceful engineer. Always friendly, helpful and down to earth.

So sad to hear about Graham. I knew him as a colleague and a neighbour, he was certainly a character and kept us entertained with his humour usually with some risqué content. He was one of a kind and they definitely broke the mould after him. Please accept my sincere condolences.
