Glenys Parke

Peacefully in her sleep on 26th June 2018 at Moorhead Residential Home, Glenys aged 90 years, formerly of Church and Oswaldtwistle.  The devoted and much loved wife of the late Eric, loving mum of Stephen, dear mother-in-law of Jean, cherished granny of Rachel and Gary and great-granny of Callum and Ava.

Glenys started her working life at Broad Oak Printers.  Following her marriage to Eric she became a full-time housewife and mum and spent her time looking after her son Stephen.  Glenys enjoyed her holidays and her favourite destinations were Majorca and Switzerland.  She loved to socialise with friends at Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club where she would enjoy a glass of whiskey and a cigarette and she loved to get dressed up all glamorous too and enjoy a good night out at a ball. Glenys had a wide circle of friends through Eric’s work and together they later ran the Sunnyside General Store at Gt Harwood where she enjoyed to chat away to the customers.
