Geoffrey William Taylor (Geoff)

On 6th June 2023, Geoff aged 87 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted and much loved husband of Olive, loving dad of Heather, dear father-in-law of Craig and a respected relative and friend to many.

Born in Rossendale Geoff attended agricultural college before starting his working life in farming following his love for the outdoors and animals, he worked on various farms in the Ribble Valley  and then in the days of the £10 Pom Geoff secured his ticket and emigrated to New Zealand working as a milk tester and sheep farmer. He later returned to England where he met beloved Olive and began working as a postman before taking his civil service exams and working at the job centre. Always active, Geoff loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours walking in the countryside, he was an avid gardener and always took great pride in watching his garden spring in to life each year whilst welcoming the many species of birds. Geoff was an active member of All Saints’ Church and was always on hand to help in whatever way was needed and he was also a former member of the Mens fellowship.
