Geoffrey Rawcliffe (Geoff)
On the 3rd of January 2023, Geoff Rawcliffe of Lyndon Court, Great Harwood, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a short illness.
The beloved husband of June and loving dad to Karen, Joanne, Lisa and Lee. He was also Grandad to Joshua, Oliver and Jordan also Great Grandad to Elbie and Ardey.
Geoff briefly worked down the pit at Huncoat before joining the Lancashire Fusiliers which then became the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, of which he served proudly for 22 years.
After leaving Geoff began driving HGV, with a particular highlight of working for the United Nations Humanitarian relief convoys in Bosnia during the war in that region. Geoff was always ready to help people, and this was brought to the forefront during these mercy missions, delivering vital supplies to those afflicted.
After retirement, Geoff and June enjoyed numerous holidays abroad but mainly in the caravan, to many destinations around Britain.
Geoff was a much loved and respected person, with an infectious sense of humour. He lived life to the full and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and his cherished pal Alfie (his little Westie).

Karen, June and Family, Please accept our deepest condolences on the profound loss of your husband, father and grandfather. We always enjoyed a visit with Geoff and June on their visits to Calgary. Geoff was always good for little sarcastic banter which made him our kind of people! We’ll raise a glass to him at our next lobster boil as we remember how much he seemed to enjoy that day at our home. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
