Gayle Aspden

Suddenly whilst on holiday on 19th July 2023, Gayle aged 73 years of Accrington. The much loved and devoted wife of Keith, adored mum of Amanda and Stephen, dear mother-in-law of Heath, loved grandma of Bethany, Maisie and George, dear sister of Jill, Keith, Karen, Tina, Paul, Julie, Tracy, Darren, Gary and the late Elaine and also a dearly loved auntie, relative and friend to many .

Gayle spent her working life at Accrington Victoria Hospital as a domestic assistant working her way up to supervisor, she was well loved by her working team and made many good friends over the years. She was full of life and had the most amazing bubbly and outgoing personality, Gayle had a smile that would light up the room when she entered and more love to share than most. Gayle adored the sunshine and each year she would look forward to spending the winter months in the warm climate of Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, her second home, where she had many friends and often would be joined by other family members sharing happy times and many happy memories were created. Gayle was the most doting mum and grandma and always enjoyed family time and she would spoil the grandchildren at any given chance. She was an amazing singer and loved nothing more than having a turn on the karaoke and could often be heard singing her favourite tune ‘Only You’. It was through her love of Karaoke that she met the love of her life and soulmate Keith who she shared almost thirty wonderful years with. Gayle always took great pride in her appearance, always dressed to impress and had an outfit for every occasion, she had more clothes than you could imagine, she was always shopping and she was on first name terms with the local delivery man.

Gayle was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Gayle was a beautiful soul and the world will be missing a funny, vivacious human being now. I have many precious memories from my childhood of Gayle, sneaking into her bedroom with Karen, to play 45’s on her old Dansette record player, PJ Proby springs to mind, when I think of her. Sleep well and rest now Gayle, let your star shine as bright in the heavens as it did on earth xx
