Marvellous cook and devoted family lady

On 9th July 2018 suddenly in hospital, Evelyn aged 79 years of Gt Harwood. Dearly loved wife of the late Herbert, also a dearly loved mum, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma.

Evelyn was a weaver in the cotton mills and then a cook in schools and for several years at Northlands up until her retirement.  She was a brilliant cook, especially traditional dishes such as cheese and onion pie.

She enjoyed going to the bingo or out shopping with her sisters on a Saturday where they would peruse Debenhams and M&S and enjoy a cup of tea and a scone on the market.  She was a regular attender at Our Lady & St Hubert’s Church.

Evelyn loved her home and was a truly devoted family lady.  She was a proud grandma who always looked after her grandchildren and always spoilt them with her love.
