Eric Walmsley

On 20th July 2019 peacefully at his home, Eric aged 74 years of Great Harwood.  Dearly loved husband of Jean, much loved dad of Nigel and Christian, dear father-in-law of Alison, loving grandad of Francesca and Scarlett and dear brother-in-law of Gordon and Elaine.

Eric was a printer at Ward Knowles in Accrington, then at the Accrington Observer, and then at the Lancashire Telegraph where he worked for over 25 years until his retirement.

A big lover of both sea and fly fishing, Eric loved his fishing trips to Scotland.  Also a keen sports lover, he was a big cricket fan and went to Lords for many years with his friend Alan, as well as following Rugby League, Formula 1 and horse racing.

A true family man, Eric was kind hearted and selfless and he adored his family and his grandchildren.  Eric will be dearly missed.
