Elizabeth Pye (Betty)

Peacefully on Saturday February 6th at Burnley Hospital Elizabeth Pye aged 91.

Dearly loved wife of Ronnie who had sadly passed away 19. 01. 21.

Betty was a cherished auntie of Malcolm and Nigel and cousin and family, to Brian and Julie and family, Jack and Susan and family, a dear relative and friend to a great many.

Betty was an active member of St Bartholomew’s Church in Gt Harwood and took part in various societies belonging to the church. She loved socialising in various Groups from the church and attending functions with them.

In her younger days Betty attended many night school classes learning how to sew, paint pottery and develop her great love of baking.

Betty and Ronnie enjoyed their holidays both in the U.K and in Europe and they had great friends in Hank and Evelyn from Holland who visited from time to time.

Nothing pleased her more than having visitors where she would offer tea and cakes as Betty became a keen and accomplished baker as her friends will tell, she baked every day until going into hospital just recently. She really loved having friends and family round and a ten minute visit always turned into an hour or more. She will be missed terribly by all that knew her.

Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Betty are being gratefully received on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice via the donate button below.

Please feel free to leave a message for Betty’s online memorial book by completing the form below.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Betty”s passing. She was a lovely lady that I’ve known for 45 years, since we used to catch the bus together, on the way to work. Then we helped with children in church together, Betty was always kind and helpful and will be greatly missed. So sad, but she is with Ronnie now, may they both rest in peace. Love to all the family. xx
