Eileen Moore

Eileen, aged 82 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the 26th March 2024. The devoted wife of Brian, loving and loved mum of Ian and Andrea, dear mother-in-law of Pauline and Graham, cherished grandma of Declan, Sophie and Natalie, great-grandma of Wynter and Ocie and a respected relative and good friend to many.

A well known and loved local character in Rishton who loved a laugh, Eileen had a twinkle in her eye and smile that would light up the room when she entered. She was a social butterfly who loved nothing more than being out and about chatting away to her endless friends, enjoying a shopping trip, a lunch date or a glass of her favourite tipple. Throughout her life Eileen had various job roles, spending time working at local factories including Brook Bond Oxo and later she spent time as a cook at Rishton Methodist School and a local nursery, she was a true grafter and with her hard working ethos, Eileen was always a popular and respected member of her working team. Holidays were a favourite time for Eileen and together with her husband and soulmate Brian they have travelled to many countries throughout Europe and no matter where they went they were sure to make new friends. She was a people magnet and could chat about anything to anyone.  When Eileen finally found time to relax she loved to settle in her favourite chair at her home and loose herself in her latest Catherine Cookson novel.
Most of all Eileen was the most doting family lady who always looked forward to spending time with her family and becoming grandma and great-grandma was truly the icing on her cake and she adored each of the grandchildren and loved to spoil them with love and treats and was always on hand for babysitting duties.

I lost my best friend to Dementia and now I have lost her again. We used to spend nearly every day together. I have so many happy memories that we shared together, going shopping, going away with all the family and also going away for holidays with the girls. We had the best times Eileen was such a character, life and soul of the party. I will miss her so much but she will always be in my heart.
