Eileen Dixon

On 1st April 2023, suddenly but peacefully in hospital, Eileen, aged 81 years of Clayton-le-Moors. Dear wife of the late Geoffrey, loving and much loved mum of Ian and Ruth, loving mother in law of Julie and Simon, loving gran of  Thomas & Olivia, Ashleigh & Michael and Jonathon, great grandma of Felicity and Hallie.

Eileen loved all children and had been a childminder for many years. She was loving, patient and was much loved by all the children. Eileen then became a travel clerk at Robinsons Coaches until her retirement. She lived an active life and enjoyed being in company. She spent many years helping out at Enfield CC Tearoom on match days where she made many friends. Also a lifelong member at All Saints Church, Eileen was instrumental in raising funds for Mozambique. Family holidays whilst the children were young were enjoyed in Wales and Cornwall and later, Eileen and Geoff loved their holidays to Greece. Eileen loved being active and on the go, enjoying several hobbies and was naturally gifted in many areas –  playing the piano, singing, calligraphy, as well as being a beautiful painter in watercolours. Eileen had many friends and was a such a good friend to have – loyal, caring and fun too. Thursday afternoons playing Canasta with her friends were firmly set in stone. Eileen was inspirational in her devotion and care for her family and will be remembered with much love and happiness by all who knew her. The world is a better place just because of Eileen. May she rest in peace.

We only know Ian’s Mum from Accrington Stanley. Such a lovely lady to chat with at a match. Always a friendly smile and a shared laugh re seating arrangements, season tickets that don’t scan, results and injuries (good or bad) but always her concern for Ian’s welfare and happiness shine through. We shall certainly miss her.
