Dorothy Skeer

In hospital on 6th March 2024, Dorothy aged 89 years of Accrington. She was the devoted wife of the late Kenneth Skeer, and together they shared a life of unwavering commitment and partnership.

Dorothy was the loving mother of Gayle and Bruce, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Dorothy found immense happiness in her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren Robert, Richard, and Holly, showering them with endless love, affection, and wisdom. She also took great joy in her great-grandchild Jenson, finding immense happiness in watching him grow.

Dorothy had a deep passion for animals, particularly dogs. She found solace in their companionship and spent countless hours walking them in the countryside. Her daughter’s passion for breeding Rough Collies led Dorothy to adopt a few over the years, each one becoming a beloved member of the family.

In addition to her love for animals, Dorothy had a profound appreciation for nature. She loved spending time in her garden, tending to her flowers, and watching the birds that visited. Dorothy’s love for the outdoors extended to her annual tradition of documenting the birds and flowers she encountered, a testament to her deep connection with the natural world. She also had a fondness for butterflies, finding beauty and wonder in their delicate wings.

Dorothy’s love for literature and poetry was evident in her collection of books, and she passed down the passion to her children and grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed exploring the beauty of the United Kingdom and Scotland during her holidays, finding joy in the breathtaking landscapes and rich history they offered.

Dorothy Skeer’s life was one filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
