Dorothy Kay

On 25th October 2023, peacefully in Manor House, Chatburn, Dorothy, aged 95 years of Clitheroe. the dearly beloved wife of the late Arthur, much loved mum of Graham and the late Trevor, cherished grandma of Michael and Russell, great grandma of Sam, Isabella, Arthur and Iris and much loved aunt of Diane and family.

Dorothy worked as a private secretary and became a housewife when the children were born, finding her joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished aunt.  Life very much centred around her home and family. Dorothy was naturally gifted and was an extraordinary knitter, effortlessly creating intricate and elaborate designs. She also skilfully crafted dolls. She had an impeccable sense of style and was always so beautifully presented, with every outfit and accessory perfectly matched, always finished off with a string of beads from her extensive collection. Dorothy was a very well known face at Marks & Spencer – her favourite shop. Dorothy and Arthur loved dining out especially at Ye horns Inn, where they also enjoyed many happy family meals. Holidays were also much loved and Dorothy and Arthur travelled the globe several times, particularly loving Poland and Italy. Dorothy was dearly loved by family and friends and will be sadly missed. Her warmth, love, and creativity touched the hearts of all and she leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.

Flowers, if desired, are gratefully being received at Champ Funeral Home.
