Dorothy's funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA.
Dorothy Karwat
Peacefully in the loving care of the Woodlands Care Home on 13th May 2022, Dorothy aged 98 years of Great Harwood, the devoted wife of the late John, much loved mum of Peter, Paul and Adele, dear mother-in-law of Maggie, Bev and David, cherished grandma of Louise, Joanne, Nicola and Stephanie, great grandma of Charlie, Amelia, Alfie, Heidi, Roman and Alannah, dear sister of the late Kathleen, much loved family member and friend to many.
Born and raised in Great Harwood, Dorothy was a well known and respected lady within the local community. Following her school years Dorothy began her working life in the local mills of Great Harwood, she later worked at the Oxo factory where she made many good friends leading up to her retirement. Dorothy loved the outdoors and could often be seen marching over Whalley Nab or out and about with her beloved dog in tow, she loved all animals. She enjoyed going on holiday and spent many wonderful times away both with her late husband John and her many friends. Most of all Dorothy was a much loved family lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Everyone is invited to join the family following the funeral service for a celebration of Dorothy’s life at Great Harwood Cricket Club, please feel free to make your way there if you are not able to visit the Crematorium.
