Donald Townsend

Well known face in Clayton-le-Moors

At his home on 25th March 2018, Donald aged 80 years, formerly of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted partner of Kevin of 48 years, dear brother of Tom, Derek, Peter, David, Betty, Joan and the late Brian, John and Marie, a treasured uncle and a good friend to many.

Donald worked for Hyndburn Borough Council as a refuge collector for many years and also had various jobs before that. He was a well-known face around Clayton-le-Moors. Donald loved dogs, in particular greyhounds which he would train for racing but especially important to him was his beloved collie and dog companion Jess. Donald loved his caravan as well as holidays abroad where he enjoyed seeing the sights and spending time walking. He liked to visit churches and cathedrals. He also enjoyed visiting his family.
