Donald Richards

Suddenly in hospital on 17th January 2024, Donald aged 85 years of Cliviger. The devoted and loving husband of Barbara, loved dad of Adrian and his wife Steph, cherished grandad of Toby and Henry, dear brother of Ian and a respected relative and good friend to many.

Founder and director of Richards Sheet Metal Ltd, Donald was a well loved and respected business man in his industry, employing many people over the years, many of whom have worked for the company for several decades and he was still actively working within the company up to three weeks ago. In his younger years Donald served for his country with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards and always remained proud of his service and in his own words ‘Once a Coldstreamer, Always a Coldstreamer’. Following his service he joined the Burnley branch of the Coldstream Guards Association and rarely missed their monthly meetings. Donald always took great pride in his appearance and he would rarely be seen without a shirt and tie.  A truly devoted family man, Donald and Adrian jointly ran the family business. Donald adored his wife Barbara, she was his soulmate, the most doting grandad to his grandsons Toby and Henry, he always looked forward to spending time with them and was readily available for the school run which was always fun with grandad.

Family flowers only please.
