Derrick Monk

Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on 5th March 2018, Derrick aged 78 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted husband of the late Denise, much loved dad of Glen, Shaun, Jodie and Kylie, cherished grandad of Jayden, Brodie, Tyler, Chelsea, Jordan, Trey, Joshua and Cooper, dear brother of Ken, Tommy, Iven, Maureen, Jeanette, and also a much loved relative and friend.

Derrick served his national service in the Army and became a spray painter following his move to Australia in the 1970’s where he later had his family. Derrick moved back to the UK in 1995 and met and married Denise. He was a very artistic and creative man who loved to draw and paint. He enjoyed meeting his friends in the local pub for a drink and a catch up and he enjoyed travelling with his late wife Denise. Just last year he travelled to Europe with his two daughters and granddaughter and together they created many happy memories.
