Derek Edwards

Suddenly but peacefully at his home on 23rd May 2022, Derek aged 89 years of Clayton-le-Moors and formerly of Padiham. The devoted husband of the late Sheila and loving partner of the late Sheila, loved dad of Jayne, Louise and Derek-Mark, cherished grandad and great-grandad.

Derek began his working life as a plumber before moving to Mullard’s where he spent over twenty years, he loved his work and over the years made many wonderful and loyal friends. Derek was a steam train enthusiast and loved to spend his time on the East Lancashire Railway, where he was a well loved and respected face. A keen amateur photographer, Derek could often be found out and about with his camera taking his latest snaps. Travel was one of Derek’s favourite pass times, he always looked forward to visiting his daughters and grandchildren in the middle east where they lived and in his later years Derek enjoyed many coach holidays touring the UK.
