David Robinson
On 3rd January 2023, suddenly but peacefully at his home, David aged 67 years of Beardwood. The dearly beloved and precious husband of Ann Marie, much loved and loving dad of Jessica and James, dear father in law of Mike and Hannah, treasured grandad of William, Evie and Benjamin, loved brother of Beryl and the late Brian, also a much loved uncle and brother in law and a dear friend to many.
David dedicated his working life to being a Senior Biomedical Scientist at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, and was also a fellow of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Scientists. He loved a challenge and had amazing problem solving skills. Out of work, David loved spending time with his family and adored his home life. He was an avid fan of his revered Blackburn Rovers, thoroughly enjoyed watching horse racing and was a keen bird watcher. David was always so proud of his children in every way but especially for Jessica achieving her PhD from Cambridge and of James pursuing his dream of becoming a jockey and a career in horse racing. David enjoyed cooking and loved to try new recipes from the cookery programs he liked to watch. A keen swimmer, David also loved to grow plants from seed and he loved to watch them grow and develop. He was also a keen reader of nonfiction who loved a quiz – whether he was writing the quiz himself or competing with Ann Marie at home. Family holidays were always much enjoyed and, on their travels, David loved to experience the local food, drink and culture. He and Ann Marie always enjoyed their trips to visit Jessica in Wisconsin. David was popular, respected and well liked as a kind and gentle man who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

I immediately liked David upon our first meeting. A wonderful person with a great sense of humor and chuckle! I remember how much he enjoyed his Chicago birthday dinner surprise when the menu said “happy birthday, Mr. Robinson!” Mostly I’m just grateful he became part of our family and we love the Robinson family and are with you all from afar. Sending so much love to Ann Marie, Jess and James. We love you.

Having known Ann for well over forty years I know how much David meant to her. My heart aches for her and all those family members who will miss him so much. I know the beautiful memories he left will mean he is never forgotten. May he rest peacefully and rise in glory with his Lord – where you will all find him again. Heartfelt condolences to you all.

We are truly saddened to learn of the death of David Robinson. Truly, this would be a better world if others still with us on this planet were more like David. His quiet, unassuming, yet gregarious demeanor masked an otherwise energetic, adventuresome and generous spirit. We who got to know David EACH benefited via our connections with Ann Marie and David who BOTH shared their exemplary “life gift” to/with us in the form of their beloved daughter Jessica who agreed to become wife to our son Mike. Thank you, David, for setting such a positive life example for the rest of us try to adopt into our own life decisions. ke David.
