David Robert Thistlethwaite (Dave)

Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on 11th January 2019, Dave aged 58 years of Accrington.  The devoted and much loved husband of Bev, loving dad of Leigh, Donna, Michelle, Becky, Rhian and Brad, dear father-in-law of Kerri, Ste, James and Adam, and a cherished grandad to Callum, Lucas, Jenson, Mason, Leo, Jessica, Cole, Zachary, dear brother of Julie, Hazel and Roy, and also a dear relative and friend to many.

Dave worked at C.V. Buchan’s in Huncoat for over 20 years, starting on the shop floor and working his way up to Transport Manager but remaining one of the lads at work.

Dave had lots of hobbies and was very mechanically minded and was always fixing things for family, friends and neighbours.  He loved motorbikes and even on holiday, would hire a bike and set off to tour the area and visit old ruins and churches with Bev on the back.  Fuertaventura was his favourite holiday destination and he also enjoyed travelling to Spain to see family.  He loved dogs too, especially his westie “Tessie” with whom he enjoyed days out walking and she followed him everywhere.
