David James Walker

Peacefully at home with his wife by his side on 28th January 2021, David aged 81 years of Langho. The devoted and much-loved husband of Sue, loving dad of Rachel, Jane and Neil, cherished grandad of Sam, Ethan, Megan and Archie and dear relative and friend of many.

David started his working life serving in the Merchant Navy before training as a civil engineer. He enjoyed his work and made many good friends over the years. He was very sociable, a much-loved loyal friend and a true gentleman. A keen sportsman and former semi-professional footballer, David loved all sport. He particularly enjoyed cricket and golf and was a member of Clitheroe Golf Club and former member of Doncaster Town Moor Club. Together with his wife Sue, David travelled the world making wonderful memories that will be forever treasured. He was blessed with the most amazing memory and always told the best stories. David truly made the most of his life and lived every day to the full.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Not only will David be missed as a next door neighbour but also as a friend. A lovely, lovely man who we are privileged  to have known, things won’t be the same around here without him. RIP David, sleep easy.

We have many fond memories of David from our time in Florida when we had a holiday home. He was a lovely kind man liked by all our family we shared some happy fun times over the years. It was a privilege to have known him. Rest in peace David xx
