David James Thomas

On 27th August 2019 peacefully in hospital, Dave aged 66 years of Great Harwood.  The dearly beloved husband of the late Beryl, loved step-dad of John and Stephen, dear father-in-law of Debra, Nicola and Cath, loving grandad, dear brother and uncle and a good friend to many.

Dave worked as a tool setter at Metflex.

A happy go lucky character, Dave was laid back and easy-going and loved being in company.  A proud upright gentleman, he would chat to anyone. Crown green bowling was a big part of his life at Rushton St. Bowling and he loved visiting other bowling clubs and meeting the people there.  He was a season ticket holder at Blackburn Rovers and he loved his food, especially a spaghetti and meatballs takeaway from Papa Marios.  After Beryl died, Dave was very popular with his neighbours Doreen, Eileen and Joyce and he called them his ‘golden girls’.
