Daniel Francis Cassidy – Dan Cass
On 30th October 2023, peacefully at The Christie hospital with dignity and love, Dan, aged 30 years of Oswaldtwistle. The adoring and adored husband of Darcy, devoted and cherished daddy of Dougie and Delilah, beloved son of Debbie and Maurice, loved brother of Leesha, Shelley and Louise, dear brother in law of Jonny, Charles, Elias and Blaize, loving uncle of Amelia, Xanthe, Harriet, Penelope and Primrose and loved son in law of Christine and Sean.
Dan was a highly skilled electrician, working in partnership with his father at Cassidy Electrical. His passion for his work was evident, marked by his meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering confidence in his abilities. Dan’s work ethic was complemented by his exceptional tidiness, consistently ensuring ( very proudly ) that he had the neatest consumer units. Outside work, Dan had an infectious zest for life, dedicating his full energy to anything that grabbed his interest. He was a fervent food enthusiast, savouring a wide spectrum of culinary experiences, from the finest cuisine to a humble Doner Kebab. His love for cars, particularly those in shades of blue, was well-known, and he cherished his cars. Sunshine holidays created many happy memories and Dan loved the sun. He and Darcy shared many cherished moments in their garden beneath their special pear tree. Dan loved a cup of coffee, and he was known to express amazement if he wasn’t offered one within 15 minutes of visiting your house. Dan had long been a loyal supporter of Blackburn Rovers, but he switched allegiance to Man City, with his mum following quickly in his footsteps. Dan always had great attention to detail and loved planning and creating detailed itineraries. Becoming a husband and then daddy to the twins, Dougie and Delilah brought a whole new layer of joy into Dan’s heart and they became the centre of his universe. Happy camping trips together and even on these trips, Dan’s perfectionism shone through, as he meticulously arranged tent pegs with precision. A DIY King too he loved a challenge, the tougher the better and he would never be beaten. Dan was loved and will be missed for so many reasons. His legacy is a tapestry woven with love and beauty, a testament to the profound impact he had on those who knew him. As we mourn his passing, we also embrace valuable lessons – the significance of cherishing each day and infusing everything we do with love, for it is in this way that lasting connections and memories are made. At rest with the angels.

Darcy looked after my granddaughters when they were small and she always called me Nana Babs just as they did. I share her pain at Danny’s passing and I wish Danny all my love on his new journey to the afterlife. Goodbye and God Bless.
