Colin Mather

On 17th August 2021, Colin aged 77 years of Oswaldtwistle passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family. The devoted and much loved husband and best friend of June, loving and loved dad of Craig and Sharon, dear father-in-law of Beth and Rob, cherished grandad of Jess, Maisie and little Max.

Colin spent his working life in the printing industry working for Joseph Arnold, Hambledon Studios before retiring from his position as print manager for Hallmark. No matter of his position in the work place, Colin always kept his feet firmly on the floor remaining one of the lads and with his hard working ethos, Colin was always a well respected member of his working team making many friends along the way. One of his proudest moments in his working life was when Princess Diana visited Hallmark and he was given the task of giving her the tour of the print works.

Colin was the most devoted family man, strict but fair, he would go out of his way to ensure his family was provided for. He loved the outdoors and each day he would walk for miles with his beloved companion Becky the border collie. At home Colin enjoyed gardening, BBQ’s and was an avid reader and loved nothing more than being settled reading his latest book.

Colin was a true gentleman in every way, he will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him,

Family flowers only please, donations can be made in Colin’s memory on behalf of British Heart Foundation.
