Colin Gregory

On 24th September 2020 peacefully at his home following a short illness bravely borne, with his loving family by his side, Colin, aged 78 years of Great Mitton. The dearly loved husband of Jean, much loved Dad of Barry, Grahame and Pamela, dear father in law of Louise, Jolene and Bill and loving grandad of Joshua and Freya.

Colin was a chef in the Army and served in Cyprus and Libya. He had several jobs throughout his life and spent over 20 years as a meter reader with the Gas Board. Colin then became self employed for a while at  Muschamp before his retirement. He was a keen gardener and adored his allotment where he grew vegetables. With his green fingers, Colin could grow something out of nothing. He had also been a wonderful cook, harking back from his days as an army chef. His potato pie with suet crust, and date and walnut cake were simply the best. A kind and gentle man with a lovely, warm sense of humour, Colin hated injustice of any kind. As a young dad, he loved going to watch the Speedway racing at BelleVue with Barry and Graham, where many happy times were had. When Colin had his adored Chihuahua Belinda, he would carry her tucked in his jumper and everyone said he looked just like Bob Carolgees. Colin will be remembered with love and sadly missed.
