Colin Bamber

Well-known drummer

Suddenly in hospital with his wife by his side on 10th July 2018, Colin aged 78 years of Oswaldtwistle.  The devoted and much loved husband of Hilda and dear brother-in-law of Jean.  Colin also leaves good friends Alex, Vera, Kevin and Susan.

Colin worked as an engineer at Stewart Engineering for many years.

He was a well-known drummer playing in bands all over but he was especially well-known in the clubs of Clayton-le-Moors. Interested in astronomy, he spent many hours studying the skies with his 3 telescopes and could name all the stars.  He was also an avid reader and was particularly fond of Harry Potter books which he liked to read over and over again.

Colin met his wife Hilda in the Greyhound Pub in Clayton-le-Moors when he was just 18 years old.  They clicked straight away  and were married for 56 years never spending a day apart.

Hilda would like to express her thanks to Jean, Alex, Vera and Susan and to Dr S Prout and all at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
