Talented sewing machinist

Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, Claire aged 79 years of Accrington.  The devoted and much loved wife of Brian, loving mum of Marie and Alicia, dear mother-in-law of George and David, cherished nanna and great grandma, dear sister and relative and friend to many.

Claire spent most of her working life as a sewing machinist at Hildens Manufactures, a job which she thoroughly enjoyed.  She was a fantastic sewer and could turn her hand to anything.  In later years she worked as a carer and she made many good friends.  She would talk to anyone about anything and had an infectious personality.

Claire devoted her life to looking after her husband Brian.  They were a devoted couple who always looked forward to time spent with the family.  Together they enjoyed holidays both abroad and in the UK.  Claire also enjoyed her weekly trips to the seaside, especially Fleetwood and Cleveleys, and trips to the bingo with her daughters.  In her spare time, she was a keen knitter and enjoyed reading books about bygone times and crime dramas.  She also enjoyed trying her luck with scratch cards.
