Christine Elliott – Chris

On Wednesday 27th December 2023, Chris, aged 79 years of Whalley, passed away peacefully in Abbeyfields Care Home, Clitheroe. The dearly beloved and loving wife of Alan, much loved mum of Peter and Joanne, dear mother in law of Alison and Nick and loving Granny of Lilly, Sam, Freddie and Joseph.

Chris began her working life as a PE teacher but changed her career to start a family business with Alan – Kids Connections, retail and wholesale children’s clothes.  Although Alan took centre stage, Chris was the power behind the button, navigating the intricacies of the business with great dedication until her well-deserved retirement. Chris’s true joy, however, lay in the heart of her family. She would have said, she was blessed to have had both fond memories of family holidays during the children’s younger years, adventures shared with Alan and, in her latter years, countless holidays with her grandchildren. Chris was always one to give but without expectation to receive, always one to give advice but never to judge, and she always had a gem of gentle advice for those who wanted to listen. Chris will be remembered for her gentle yet strong demeanour, paired with her ever-present beautiful smile.  A truly lovely lady, Chris leaves behind a most gentle and kind footprint in the hearts of her loved ones. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created during her lovely life.

Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully being received in memory of Chris on behalf of Dementia UK.  To make a donation, please click the blue donate button at the foot of this page.

    David, Taryn and families

Auntie Christine, forever in our hearts. We say goodbye to you but not our lasting happy memories of many special times spent with you and the extended family – nurtured and hosted by you. many times.

Judith Taylor and Linda Rogers (cousins)

We remember Chris with much fondness from our childhoods when we sometimes had little holidays with Uncle Alan and Auntie Rose.  Chris was just a little bit older than ourselves and seemed to be very glamorous and grown-up to two awkward teenagers.  She has boyfriends and she got engaged.   But you could also have a good giggle with Chris especially when sharing a bedroom with her and one of Auntie Rose’s sisters.  As we got older, my sister and I were both thinking about possibly being teachers too so this gave Chris a bit extra star quality, as well.  We are sorry we can’t join you for the funeral but hope all the arrangements give comfort to the family and allow you to remember some of the happier times you spent together.  Sincere condolences
