Memorial Book
On 3rd July 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and his children, Chris passed away, aged 62 years, of Rishton. The cherished and dearly loved husband of Jeanette, devoted dad of Gemma, Colleen and Billy, doting grandad of James and Joseph and a loved brother of Rosie, Jimmy, Diane, Louise and Stewart.
Chris was born in Rossendale and raised in Clitheroe by his parents. After graduating from Ribblesdale High School, he began his career as an apprentice weaver at James Dewhurst. His dedication and friendly nature saw him progress into the role of Distribution Centre Manager at Pentland in Blackburn, where he made lifelong friends and many happy memories.
Later in life, Chris found great purpose working in the NHS, where he spent the last six years as a Logistics Assistant a role he truly loved and took immense pride in.
Chris was a man full of life, laughter, and rhythm. He found pure joy in ballroom and sequence dancing, sharing over a decade of dance and travel with the love of his life, Jeanette. Together with friends from Sandersons Dancing Club in Nelson, they created unforgettable memories on holiday and on the dance floor.
A true individual, Chris never shied away from expressing himself often adding a splash of colour to formal events with his signature red waistcoat. He had a great sense of humour and a zest for life that lifted everyone around him.
Chris was also a sports enthusiast. Though he often joked about being a “bad” golfer at Rishton Golf Club, he was a proud and passionate supporter of Accrington Stanley.
But above all else, Chris was a devoted family man. His heart belonged at home, where he was happiest surrounded by his Children and his beloved grandchildren, with whom he shared countless caravan holidays rain or shine. Being a Grandad was one of his greatest joys, and his love for his family was unwavering.
Chris will be remembered for his warmth, his humour, his bright spirit, and the deep love he gave to all who knew him.

Greatly missed brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Life will be greyer without you in it .RIP. Jimmy, Tricia, David, Matthew and families x
Though life took us on different paths, Chris, we shared a meaningful chapter together many moons ago and we were blessed with a beautiful daughter, who carries the very best of you forward ♥️
You will always be remembered for your kindness and quiet strength, and in particular that wonderfully silly, boyish sense of humour — the kind that would make everyone roll their eyes one minute and be in hysterics the next. It was part of your unique, inimitable charm and one of the many special things that made you so easy to be around.
My thoughts are with your wife and soulmate, Jeanette, your children Gemma, Colleen and Billy, and all who loved and had the absolute pleasure of knowing you (and laughing with you).
Keep on charming the old ladies up there and rest peacefully Chris ♥️ x

We met Chris and Jeanette three years ago when we moved in next door. From the very beginning, they were so warm and welcoming. Chris always had the brightest smile, one that could light up any room. We will deeply miss his kind presence and that unforgettable smile.
May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may comfort surround Jeanette and all who loved him during this difficult time.
With heartfelt sympathy.
I only knew Chris for a short while, but he always had a smile on his face and was always great to talk to and just be around.
Always so welcoming into his home. I’ve no doubt he’ll be missed by all who knew him
Chris truly was one of the greatest, kindest, funniest and most amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He lit up every room he entered. You will be so sorely missed, rest peacefully uncle Chris ❤️
We have known Chris for several years through our mutual love of ballroom dancing with Sandersons Dance and Fitness . He will always be remembered for his snazzy dressing especially on the dance weekends when his fancy dress outfits were always fab. He was so friendly great fun and will be sadly missed.
Chris you will be remembered for the comedienne you always were hope you’re with your mum antie Ciss putting the world to rights you will be sorely missed in this world but you are pain free now
“A nicer man, you’ll never meet”, is how I have always described Chris. When we were first introduced 11 years ago, he was welcoming, down to earth and very friendly. Chris always put you at ease, and it was a pleasure to be in his company. He adored his family and his gratitude for those most basic things, made him such an amazing husband, father and grandfather. So sorry I could only call him my brother in law for a few weeks, but I had always felt like he was anyway. Taken too soon, he will be sorely missed. RIP Chris. ❤️
I worked with Chris at his time at JDL
I have so many happy fun memories of him
He was such a funny guy
He will be missed 😢
It was an honour to have Chris as a boss at Pentland. He was a fair boss to us all. He was very funny & would come & help with work if it was needed. Not many bosses would do that. If you had a serious problem you could go to Chris, he would help you to sort it. The love for his family was obvious, Chris would talk about them all with such pride. You will be sadly missed by many Chris, may you rest in peace. My thoughts are with your family. 💙
Many a happy hour spent walking through town after school with Chris eating 2p ice lollies then smashing the sucked out ice on each other’s heads..😂 also many hours spent playing table tennis with him and trying to counteract his “sneaky serve”. As others have said a funny boy, man and friend xx
So sad to hear about the loss of Chris. Had many laughs when he worked at PDS and a true gentleman. Sending love to his family
Chris was my boss at pentland he had a wicked sense of humer you could have a laugh with him he will be missed.
We had the privilege to meet Chris and Janette through dancing via socials and then in class. We have been able to witness their kindness and Chris’s brilliant sense of humour. We still look back at the birthday flash mob, inspired by Chris for my Chris 60th birthday and we have lots of fond memories from over the years.
Now Chris, you up for dancing with the stars and Sauntering with the Angles, I can hear them giggling from here!
Love and best wishes to Janette and your family, you will be missed. 🩷
I met Chris a few times at work and he was always smiling. I will always remember his big smile.
I loved listening to Jeanette’s stories of their holidays away and thier love for dancing.
Rest in peace Chris
What can I say about my dear friend Chris,he was like a brother to me and my wife Jean, and like an uncle too our two boys Callum and Alex.
Anytime I needed help with anything Chris was always there for me,I can honestly say I’m going to be lost without him.
The years we spent growing up together, firstly going to Pendle Junior School then onto Ribblesdale High School we then worked together at James Dewhurst.
I used to look forward to our two families meeting up and enjoying each other’s company.
Chris was the salt of the earth and I loved him like a brother.
Rest in peace Chris you were taken too soon.

Such sad news, I worked with Chris at Pentland for a number of years, always had a smile and a terrible joke to tell, or it would be January and he’d tell me how many days left to Christmas.
A kind man who would help any way he could, may you rest in peace Chris, sending my thoughts and prayers to Jeanette and family x
Neighbours often become more than people next door they become part of our lives. Chris was such a person a kind friendly neighbour, who brought so much warmth to those around him. His kindness won’t be forgotten shared moments of caring being supportive and his brilliant sense of humour. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having Chris and his lovely family has our neighbours. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Our Ted a brother, brother-in-law, uncle and godparent to Jessica. Gone to soon missed already always in our hearts forever remembered..❤️
We have the honour of knowing Chris and Jennette through dancing. A lovelier couple than you’ll ever meet again. Their love for each other is so evident. Chris you were a truly genuine gentleman and you will be missed by everyone whose life you touched. Rest easy but make sure you carry on dancing up there. We were honoured to know you. X
We were so saddened to hear about Chris’ passing. Though we only met a few years ago, we feel truly privileged to have known him. He was such a warm, kind, and fun person — always a joy to be around. We will always treasure the memories of the times we shared, and we are especially thankful for the inspiration he and Jeanette gave us to start jive classes — something that brings us so much joy.
He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are very much with his family during this difficult time. 💔
Chris… You were taken too early. We are so glad our memories of you cannot be taken. They will remain with us all. Love to all the family xx
Chris, our much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle . No longer suffering. We can imagine you up above telling your jokes and charming everybody . We will miss you so much 💔
Love always Rosie , John and Bev xxx
We were so very saddened to hear of the passing of Chris. He was truly one of a kind – a devoted family man, a lovely dancer and a fabulous friend to so many.
I remember over 10 years ago, John and Carline telling us with such excitement about a brilliant new couple coming to learn to dance at Blackburn. – “quick and talented” they said. And they weren’t wrong. Chris and his beautiful wife Jeanette were inseparable, lighting up the floor and bringing such joy wherever they went. Their presence became such a special part of Sanderson Dance – so many great nights and weekends, bound together by our shared love of dance.
Chris wasn’t just a good dancer. He was kind, funny, generous – everything you hope to find in a person. I’ll never forget how he and Jeanette opened their home to help a Ukrainian family in need. That act of compassion spoke volumes.
His love for Jeanette and devotion to their three children shone through everything he did. Chris had all the qualities that truly matter, and he had them in abundance. He will be deeply missed, but his warmth and spirit will remain with all of us who
were lucky enough to know him..
With deepest sympathy and all our love
Jacke & Rick and all the Sandersons family
‘Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories’
We knew Chris only briefly but will always be grateful we did and remember him with so much affection and love ❤️
‘ I heard the most beautiful word today. It was your name.’
We are so sorry for your loss, we know how much dear Chris meant to you all.
With all our love ❤️
Uncle Chris,
One of the best Uncles any of us could have asked for! No matter what was happening at that time you could always put a smile on our faces!
You have been an amazing uncle and when my family got bigger you was an uncle (and Great Uncle) to them too.
Thankyou for everything!
Uncle Chris,
A true gentleman, always smiling, and bubbly.
After I entered your nephews life 10 years ago, you was very welcoming, not of me to the family but my son Isaac. You offered Isaac football advice, and most recently encouraging him to forgo football refereeing, to which he his determined to do, even more so in your memory!
We’ve spent days reminiscing of times with you, your siblings and us as a family. The one memory I’ll always remember is, St Anne’s beach front in the huts for Jeanette and Yours anniversary.. eating food and sipping Prosecco.. from that day (because you said I drank all the Prosecco) you called me the Prosecco Queen.
So today, which would have been your birthday, I raise my glass to you!
Thank you for being a part of mine and Isaacs life for the past 10 years!
Lots of love, always in our thoughts ❤️
In loving memory of Chris
We will always remember Chris with deep gratitude and respect. During the most difficult time for us, he showed incredible humanity — a kind Englishman who opened the doors of his home to people from Ukraine fleeing the war.
Thanks to Chris, our whole family was able to find safety in the UK, receive visas, and begin a new life. His kindness, sincerity, and willingness to help left a deep mark on our hearts.
We will never forget what he did. We will always be thankful for his support, warmth, and generosity.
With love and eternal gratitude,
from all of our Ukrainian family❤️
I’ve known Chris as a colleague at East Lancs Hospitals, where we worked together in logistics.
He would always greet me with a massive man hug and then some silly jokes. Often we would have a chat about sport and sometimes put the world to rights.
He would always light up the room and left it with everyone in a better mood – what an amazing man!
Later, Jacqui and I got to know Chris and Jeanette through our shared love of dancing at Sandersons. Again, Chris would always greet us with his big man hug, sense of humour and enthusiasm. Always smiling and pleased to see everyone.
Chris, you will dearly missed by us all, and I for one will not forget you.
RIP my dear friend
Chris i met you a couple of times, you came to pick Jeanette up. The love always shone through, respect and care you showed in the office. Jeanette was always sharing beautiful pictures of family events and your lovely cruises and dances. What an amazing couple. Rip.
Chris, you will be so extremely missed! I have had the pleasure of working with you between the ages of 16-22 and I couldn’t have ever asked for a better work grandad! You always looked out for my best interests and reminded me how proud you were of me. I’m honoured to have shared many laughs with you and will miss you showing me all the family photos, especially you and Jeanette (work grandma) dressed up ready for dancing. I will never forget you and miss you dearly. Rest in peace Chris ❤️❤️❤️

Chris, well what do we say, a funny generous man. I will always remember his cheeky jokes but also his serious and understanding nature. A pleasure to know him. Last time I saw him, he was dancing in the street, typical.
My love and thoughts to both Jeanette, family and friends. Keep the jokes rolling in Chris, they were always infectious.
