On 29th November 2016 peacefully in Hospital Kathleen aged 88 years of Great Harwood. The devoted wife of the late Eddie, loving and much loved mum of Philip, Christopher and the late Frances, dear mother-in-law of Pauline, Lesley and Derek, cherished grandma of Sarah, Sue, Helen, Laura and Anthony and great-grandma of Lewis, Aaron, Isla, Lucy, Ryan, Amelia, Madeleine and Henry and also a dear relative and good friend to many.

Born in Clayton-le-Moors in 1928 Kathleen moved to Great Harwood with her family aged six years old and made it her home ever since. Her working life was spent as a shop assistant for various companies and she also ran her own shop on Railway View with her husband Eddie. A talented lady who loved cake decorating Kathleen could often be found in her kitchen creating her next masterpiece and she always provided her family each year wth a delicious Christmas cake. Kathleen also enjoyed knitting and often made clothes for her family members. Holidays were taken with other family members and they became known as ’The Golden Girls’ and enjoyed visiting Cornwall, Isle of White and Florida. She enjoyed line dancing and Tai Chi and loved nothing more than getting her family together for a celebration and always looked forward to Christmas. A life long devoted member of St Wulstan’s RC Church she loved to be involved in Church events and even travelled to Rome on a pilgrimage with her Church friends and her granddaughter Laura. A loving lady with a fantastic sense of humour who will be greatly missed.
