Carol Ann Baker

Suddenly in hospital on 8th December 2022 Carol aged 73 years of Accrington. Mother of Victoria and Sharon, a proud grandma, dear sister of Colin and Linda and a loved auntie and relative to many.

Carol served in the Royal Navy and remained proud of her service throughout her life, it was during her service that she met the love of her life and soulmate Gerald. She later began working for Lancashire County Council as a domestic before moving in to the care sector working her way up to care home manager. Carol always had a love of the sea and over the years has enjoyed many wonderful cruises travelling around the world. Following the devastating loss of her beloved Gerald Carol developed a passion for line dancing and travelled around the country with her fellow dancers and even took a trip to the USA. Carol loved to chat and could talk to anyone about anything. She was an avid gardener and many happy hours were spent pottering around her garden and greenhouse and if you ever visited Carol you was sure to leave with a new bundle of plants.

Fondly known as Ma Baker our very precious friend Carol has left us to dance with the Angels… We’re truly devastated and struggling to find the words… Carol you are a true & loyal friend… nothing has ever been too much trouble for you to do for us… and millions of others especially in our linedance family… We have had so many ‘fun’ adventures… with you & Lynn finding ‘Gluten-free’ coffee shops & chippies on Sunday & Monday afternoons following exhausting events…even in the pouring rain in Fleetwood! oh and finding that lovely Italian restaurant for my birthday in Scarborough… you’re one very exceptional lady and a true Legend… gonna miss your smiles & ‘advice’ & correcting Alan’s Lefts & Rights! we will never forget you RIP our dear friend xx
