On 22nd March 2024, peacefully in The Woodlands, Clayton-le-Moors, Brenda, aged 90 years, formerly of Ashton-under-Lyne. The dearly loved wife of the late Roy Worsnip and the late Tom Gregory, much loved and loving mum of Janet and Angela, loving nan of Rachel, Sarah, Charlotte and Jessica, loved sister of Richard and the late Barbara, also a dear sister in law and auntie.

Born in Kent, Brenda and her family moved to Manchester during the war years. Brenda spent her career as a secretary, working at various companies. She was super efficient, a perfectionist, and her attention to detail was second to none. She studied medieval latin and also researched her family history.  She spent many hours researching at different records offices and churches – all this before the ease of ancestry.com. Holidays were always eagerly anticipated. When the girls were young, they spent their holidays on a narrow boat and Brenda always knitted them a new narrow boat jumper for each trip. Brenda loved knitting and trying new crafts and was also a beautiful painter in watercolour. The Lake District was a favourite place, Naeum Cragg near Ambleside for many happy walking holidays and weekends. Brenda had been a Girl Guide and continued to the Trefoil Guild and was also the secretary for the Scouts in North Tameside. At her happiest in the heart of her family, Brenda was a most loving and wonderful nan.
