Brenda Mary Deane

On 17th August 2024, peacefully in Bridgewater Manor, Worsley, Brenda, aged 93 years of Media City formerly of The Barbican, London. Beloved and loving companion of the late Stanley. Brenda was dearly loved by her extended family and many friends.

Born in London, Brenda had a wonderful life with her much loved parents, enjoying the glamour of the 40’s and 50’s. She always fondly recalled celebrating her 21st birthday at The Savoy in London. Brenda was bright with a good head for figures and spent her working life as a Chartered Accountant until her retirement. 12 years ago, she moved to Manchester and settled in Media City. She adored her new apartment and enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people. Brenda loved socialising and was always interested in what you had to say, sharing meals at Prezzos in Media City, here favourite restaurant, just a stones throw from  home.  Brenda was the loveliest lady, always so beautifully presented finishing off her outfits with a piece of her favourite amethyst jewellery, and always wearing her warm smile. A talented artist, Brenda loved paining in watercolours, recreating on paper, the flowers her friends would buy for her. Brenda loved to visit Scotland and had taken a memorable trip to Venice. Give her a good murder mystery book and she was in her element, later switching to audio books as her eye sight began to fail. Brenda always lived by Christian values and was devoted to her church – St Paul’s in London and later Manchester Cathedral. She regularly attended, finding her peace within their walls.  Brenda was blessed with true and trusted friends and leaves them with many happy memories of a lady so true.  Our love, prayers and blessings accompany her in her re-union with her beloved Stanley. May they rest in peace.

I enjoyed a friendship with Brenda having met at Manchester Cathedral. We shared many happy lunches in Salford Quays and I visited her often in her apartment.  It’s sad saying good bye and RIP.

Brenda was a remarkable person in so many ways. Never one to judge. And always seeing the best in people. Young in heart and in mind. Always curious and positive in outlook.  Israel and I were honoured to attend her 80th Birthday at St Paul’s, and to have her as one of a handful of friends and family to attend, and celebrate, our Civil Partnership in Cardiff. x
