Peacefully in hospital on 16th December 2025, Bet aged 89 years of Ramsbottom formerly of Oswaldtwistle and Nuneaton. The devoted wife of the late Les, loving mum of Ian and Julie, dear mother-in-law of Val and Brian, cherished nana of Lindsey, Clare, Rachael and Jessica and a loved great-nana, dear sister of Val and a dear relative and fiend to many.
Born in Nuneaton, Betty spent most of her life in the West Midlands before moving to Lancashire to be closer to her son and to enjoy the beautiful countryside. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Les, and together they shared a wonderful life of companionship and happiness. In their younger years, Betty and Les enjoyed many holidays abroad, soaking up the sunshine and embracing local cultures. Later in life, they took great pleasure in coach holidays, touring and exploring the UK together. Family meant everything to Betty, and she always cherished time spent with her loved ones. She was immensely proud of their achievements and took great joy in celebrating their lives. Five years ago, following the sad loss of her husband, Betty moved to The Cottons in Ramsbottom. She soon settled in and made it her home, forming many new friendships and embracing the vibrant social life there. She particularly enjoyed meals in the cafe and attending the various activities and themed evenings.
Betty was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered with a smile.
Family flowers only, please. Donations are gratefully received in Betty’s memory on behalf of Lupus UK.
