Memorial Book

Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Bertha Pearce who passed away peacefully, fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church, on the 18th of August 2025.

Bertha was the devoted wife of the late George, loving mother of Gerard, Francis, David, and Jeanette, a dear mother-in-law, cherished grandmother to Ryan, Danielle, Alexandra, Jamila, George, and Niamh, and a proud great-grandmother to little Archie. She was a beloved sister to Harold and a treasured relative and friend to many.

A familiar and much-loved face in Pleasington and, latterly in Larmenier Village, Bertha will be fondly remembered as a woman of deep faith, generosity, and unwavering warmth. A devoted Catholic, she was a faithful member of Pleasington Priory and lived a life guided by kindness, charity, and service to others. Always willing to lend a hand or open her door, Bertha’s generosity of spirit touched countless lives.

Bertha had a special gift for bringing people together. The greatest entertainer, she delighted in gathering family and friends for celebrations, where her famously delicious and abundant spreads ensured no guest ever left hungry.

She also held a deep love for animals, especially cats and dogs and gave a warm, welcoming home to many over the years. Horses, too, held a special place in her heart.

Bertha’s life was one lived in love, service, and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and unforgettable hospitality.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Donations are being gratefully received in Bertha’s memory on behalf of Guide Dogs.
