Barbara passed away peacefully on the 10th July 2023, aged 75 years with her family by her side.

Much loved wife of Jimmy, dearly loved mum of Shaun, the late Philip and Helen, cherished grandma of Amy-Jo and Isabella, a dear sister to David and the late Philip, Sheila and Pat also a sister in law to Andy and Lesley.

Barbara spent her working life as a nurse at Brockhall Hospital where she served for 25 years. Barbara thoroughly loved her time spent as a nurse she had a passion for it and her loving and caring nature really showed through her work. Barbara had time for everybody her door was always open, all of her patients thought the world of her.

In her spare time Barbara loved to knit and even more so going shopping for the wool, she would knit anything and everything. Coronation Street and Last of the Summer Wine were firm favourites of Barbara’s she would quite often be heard giggling to repeat episodes of her favourite program.

Barbara was very much a home bird and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen where she would make the most amazing Pies and Pastries she took great pride in cooking and baking.

Many happy memories were made whilst visiting special places such as Wales, Weymouth, Torquay, Barbara loved her coach trips. Barbara loved her family very much and cherished time spent with them, she loved to tell you her stories and you couldn’t just nip in for 15 minutes, she loved to talk.

Barbara will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Jimmy, Shaun and all the family. I am so very sorry for the loss of Barbara. She was a lovely person, kind, generous with her time for everyone. She will be missed very much by everyone who knew her. Reunited with her son Phillip and her daughter Helen. RIP Barbara. Xxx
