A private family funeral service will be held

Barbara Eileen Gibson (nee Scammell)

On the 7th August 2020 peacefully at home with her family by her side Eileen, aged 81 years.

Loving wife of the late Brian, dearly loved mum to John, Robert and Julie, dear mother in law to Debbie, Sarah and Neil, devoted grandma to Ashleigh, Amy, Emily and Louis, cherished great grandma to Charlie, Bobby, Daniel and Henry also a loyal friend to many.

Eileen was a loving devoted family lady who lived her life at the centre of her family, she was a hardworking lady and her working life started at English electric where she worked for many years before moving onto work for Brooke Bond Oxo, Eileen held more than one job at a time working day and night to support her family In the evenings she worked at Carlton Bingo and the Broadway Pub in Accrington where she met the love of her life Brian.

In her spare time Eileen enjoyed playing bingo, darts and dominoes, sewing and knitting. Eileen was partial to making her buffets and will be remembered fondly for these. She spent many of happy times and made lots of cherished memories visiting her favourite places Blackpool and Benidorm with her family, she also loved her caravan in Carnforth.

Eileen will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

So sorry to read about your lovely mum Eileen, she was a trooper and I never saw her without a smile or a wicked remark. I’ve a thousand memories of Eileen and her children when they lived on Henry Street then down the bottom end and finally ending up in my old home. God bless you all.
