Audrey Rostron

Audrey Rostron, aged 86 years, of Northcliffe, Great Harwood, passed on peacefully on 16^th December at Royal Blackburn Hospital. Devoted wife of  Gerald Rostron for nearly 62 years. Adored mother of Stephi, Bernard and Kathryn. Mother-in-law of Mark, Louise and Ian. Grandma to Alistair, Joel, Josh, Jemma, Ella and Jack and great-grandmother to Eira Lily.

Audrey taught at Church Infant School, Church and then at St John’s Infant School, Great Harwood. An excellent piano player, she was also a fluent Italian speaker. Audrey was an active walker with a love of the outdoors, especially of the Alps and the Lake District. Over 50 years living on Northcliffe, Audrey created a beautiful garden which she loved.

Very saddened to read of the passing of Mrs. Rostron. I was lucky to have been taught by her at St. Johns School in the 70’s. I remember her being such a lovely lady, she even took us to her home on Northcliffe! My thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time x
