Arthur Vincent McNulty

Peacefully at Each Step Care Home surrounded by his loving family on 21st August 2023, Arthur aged 87 years of Blackburn. The devoted and much loved husband of Mary, loving dad of Julie, Christopher and Sarah, dear father-in-law of Stephen, Nicola and David, cherished grandad of Nicole, Faye, Libby, Charlotte, Molly, Thomas and Katie and also a dear relative and friend to many.

Following his school years Arthur completed his National Service serving with the Army, this was a part of life that Arthur was always very proud of. He later worked as an engineer working for various companies before becoming a HGV and coach driver, he loved his work and the freedom of the open road. He was a stickler for keeping his motors in immaculate condition and could spend many happy hours polishing them to a mirror shine. Arthur could turn his hand to any task and he had the tools for every job, he enjoyed time in his shed and greenhouse and everything had its place. Many happy holidays have been shared both in the UK and abroad and his favourite place to visit was the Scottish Highlands. He was the most doting dad and granddad and loved to entertain them with his wicked sense of humour and his witty one liners.

Arthur will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Nicola McNulty

Arthur, you have been like a father to me, welcoming me into the family and making me feel like I belong, no airs or graces just acceptance. You’ve been a fabulous father in law and grandad. May your soul be reunited with Chris in wherever lies beyond here – I hope it’s somewhere. We will look after Mary and each other. Xxx
