Annie Elizabeth Lowe (McToal)

06 November 1938 - 17 August 2018

On Friday, 17th August 2018, Annie Lowe passed peacefully in her sleep, aged 79.

Annie was a devoted Mother to Kathy, Dan, Eddie and Joe.  A caring Sister to Jean, Joey and Jimmy along with sister in laws Pam, Barbara and Anne, along with all her nephews and nieces.  A beloved Widow to Stan.  A loving Nana to Emma, Lara, Paul, Alex, Janine, Ellis, Joshua, Kelsey and Carrie-Ann and was a much-loved Great Grandmother (Grannie Annie) to Thomas, Samuel, Travis, Sophia, Cody and Liliana and Grandmother-in-Law to Joe and Max.

Annie was born in Northern Ireland in a town called Ballymoney, Co. Antrim and was a Farmer’s Daughter. She settled in Lancashire in 1969 and worked for many years in various factories as a Sewing Operator, Interlocker and Quality Controller of materials such as bedding and dresses. She also worked for a period in the Asda store on Blackburn Road, Accrington as a Catering Assistant. Annie outlived two husbands, James and Stan. Her final day was with her family at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Annie didn’t have many hobbies other than travelling with her husband Stan across the length and breadth of the UK, with Scotland and Wales being particularly favourite haunts. She liked to read Catherine Cookson novels and tried her hand at gardening on many occasions although in her later years this became more challenging, but she still loved visiting gardens and estates to admire the grounds.

Annie was the core essence within our family and will be greatly missed by all.

Those Irish Eyes were smiling a lot over the years and her sense of humour will be remembered by many. Remember her with affection and love.

Sleep well and rest in peace, we love you.

Family flowers only please.  Please wear a splash of colour.

Donations may be made in memory of Annie to the British Heart Foundation.
